DKK 1.5 billion in Danish supplies and consultancies

These were good times for Danish companies in the aid market.

Danida contracts amounting to a total of DKK 1.16 billion were signed with Danish suppliers in 1992, DT 9/92 reported. Consultancy contracts came on top of this, and amounted to DKK 345 million for the Danish consultancies.

While the top consultancy firms were Carl Bro, COWI and Rambøll, a road project in Zambia resulted in a single contract for Phønix Partner Technic worth DKK 190 million.

According to Phønix Manager Niels Otto Andersen, the contract marked a major breakthrough for the company.
“It is the biggest contract we have ever received, and it gives us a foothold in Africa," Andersen said to Development Today.
