WB corruption: Japanese trust fund also embezzled, six Bank officials fired
Development Today has learned that the World Bank fired three staff members due to two separate cases of corruption and fraud in the Japanese trust fund, the Policy and Human Resources Development Fund (PHRD). Investigations have concluded that kickbacks to Bank officials for PHRD contracts in the late 1990s amounted to a total of USD 215,000.

US District Court rules World Bank official and neighbour conspired to steal USD
An American businessman has pled guilty to embezzling funds from the World Bank in conspiracy with a Bank official, who received about USD100,000 in kickbacks, according to the indictment, issued by a Grand Jury at the US District Court of Columbia. The World Bank official involved had worked at the institution for more than 25 years.
