SWECO has won a SEK 9.4 million Nordic Development Fund (NDF) contract to make plans for the construction of a series of water storage reservoirs in six catchment areas around Dakar and Thiès in Senegal.

The Swedish engineering consultancy SWECO has been awarded a SEK 5 million contract from the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) to supervise the rehabilitation works at the Luxor and Karnak temples in Egypt.
According to the Danish engineering journal Ingeniøren, Danish engineering consultancy firms have been forced to lay off some 600 people as a result of the cuts in the aid budget introduced by the current government starting in 2002.
Denmark expects to continue to have substantial development cooperation with Vietnam with particular focus on reforms and the private sector. Danish Integration and Development Minister Bertel Haarder made this known in talks with Vietnam’s Vice Prime Minister Vu Khoan in Copenhagen earlier this week.
