NGO accountability in the tsunami response

NGOs received more than USD 5 billion from the general public to assist those affected by the Indian Ocean earthquake and tsunamis of 26 December 2004. The growing power of NGOs increases the importance of better accountability to donors and recipients, writes John Cosgrave.
