IFC ombudsman scrutinises SN Power’s India project

The IFC’s ombudsman is investigating a complaint from villagers over negative impacts of the IFC/Norwegian aid-financed Allain Duhangan hydropower project in Northern India.

SN Power, 49 per cent owner of the 192-megawatt power project, claims the problems have been resolved. But the IFC ombudsman insists that monitoring must continue to ensure that the company fulfils it commitments to affected villagers.
