Sida awaits proposal on Mozambique hydro

The Swedish aid agency Sida is considering to finance the rehabilitation of two ageing hydropower plants in Mozambique, and now awaits a concrete project proposal from EDM.

During the fall Norway has signed three agreements with Vietnamese authorities about new mixed credit-financed projects.

The government of Mozambique has made a final payment of USD 829,000 to Denmark following revelations of embezzlement of aid funds in the education programme in Zambezi province. This closes the largest case of corruption in Danish aid to date.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Oslo is implementing a number of measures to strengthen the administration of Norwegian development aid funds, including better systems for dealing with suspected misuse of funds.
