Iceland multiplies aid level. Aims to become top Nordic donor

Iceland is reforming the way it administers its aid policy, as part of a wider plan to become a more prominent aid donor in relative terms.

The new Foreign Minister Ingibjörg Sólrún Gísladóttir sees it as an “obligation" for wealthy nations like Iceland to increase their aid. So far Iceland has a goal of reaching an aid level of 0.35 per cent of GNI.
