Report: strict separation of military and civilian efforts

A report commissioned by the Norwegian Foreign Ministry calls for “a clear separation" between security and military mandates in the Faryab province in Afghanistan, where Norwegian forces are located.

Jan Egeland takes on helm of NUPI

The Board of the Norwegian Institute of International Affairs (NUPI) has appointed Special Adviser to the UN Secretary General and former Under-Secretary General Jan Egeland as the new Director of the institute.
