NGO Qandil to be project leader for Iraq water contract
The Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) plans to support water network management in Erbil City, the regional capital of Iraqi Kurdistan. The project will be managed by the Uppsala-based NGO Qandil, which has been working in Northern Iraq since 1992.

Finland plans re-entry into Nepal’s forestry sector after absence of ten years
After a gap of nearly a decade, Finland is returning to the forestry sector in Nepal. In the 1980s and 1990s, Finland was a major donor in the sector. The last Finnish bilateral forest aid project was the Forest Resources Information System Project (FRISP), which closed down in 1998.

Extension of “farming as a business” in Zambia
Sweden has been supporting the agricultural sector in Zambia since 2003 through the Agriculture Support Programme (ASP), which comes to an end this year. The Swedish firm Orgut has carried out the technical consultancy for the project.
