NOK 10m aid funds lost following Refugee Council’s departure from Sudan

A Norwegian aid organisation forced to leave Sudan in the spring says it was pressured to pay lucrative termination packages to local staff in exchange for securing exit visas for two of its foreign staff.

Total costs related to the expulsion amounted to at least NOK 10 million. Norwegian taxpayers will likely foot the whole bill.
