The Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) will finance a course, as part of its International Training Programme, on the implementation of the UN Security Council’s Resolution 1325, which calls for the increased participation of women in peace processes and reconstruction.

Norfund asks for NOK 1b aid crisis package

The Norwegian aid-financed risk capital fund Norfund has requested an extraordinary NOK 1 billion injection of capital to invest in Sub-Saharan Africa to counter a downward trend in foreign investments in the region following the international finance crisis. The requested funds amount to 0.7 per cent of Norway’s domestic financial package to meet the crisis.
