Green light for Bagamoyo, SEKAB defends environment study

The Bagamoyo sugar cane ethanol project has received a green light from Tanzanian authorities. The project is key in the Swedish biofuel company SEKAB’s plan to establish plantations in Africa.

But the status of the environmental study for Bagamoyo remains in question. Development Today has earlier reported that the team leader for the consultancy Orgut disowns the report because of changes made without her knowledge. SEKAB now hits back, claiming that Orgut gave express permission to make the changes.
