Local firm challenges Yara property deal in Dar es Salaam port

The Finnish-Dutch firm DSG is investing millions of dollars in a fertiliser terminal in the port of Dar Es Salaam. DSG is now challenging the Norwegian company Yara, the world’s largest fertiliser producer, which plans to build a second terminal at the port.

Donor-backed and politically well-connected, Yara has been granted land for its new terminal by the government on favourable terms. DSG fears that it will be wiped out of business by Yara.
