Norad provides ‘seed money’ for Green Africa Power

Green Africa Power is a new multilateral mechanism being developed to mobilise private investment for the construction of power plants in Africa based on renewable energy. The facility is to be a not-for-profit company that buys electricity produced by independent power producers for a price that reflects real costs, and resold to African national utilities.

Norconsult strengthens position in Africa

The Norwegian engineer consulting firm is opening a new office in South Africa, the company’s third in the southern African region. The other two offices are in Maputo and Gaborone.
