Electrification of Tanzanian villages

The Tanzanian Rural Energy Agency is calling for expressions of interest for consultancy services on a rural electrification project.  

This Villages Electrification Initiative aims to bring electricity to 91 villages along the so-called Backbone Transmission Investment Project, a transmission line that runs from Iringa in Central Tanzania to Shinyanga in the Northwest.

The consultancy will include project design, line routing, assistance with tendering and construction supervision. It will also include a feasibility study for the electrification of 51 additional villages with technical options for routing of lines, cost-benefit analysis of these options.

Expressions of interest are to be delivered to the Rural Energy Agency -  - in Dar es Salaam by July 18, 2013.
