New Danish programme in Burkina Faso
The Danish Embassy in Ouagadougou is recruiting technical assistance in the areas of justice, human rights and the security sector to support a new Danish country programme in Burkina Faso for the coming five-year period, 2016-2020.
This technical assistance will focus on the implementation of two of the programme’s components: justice and human rights and the security sector.
The total duration of the programme is about 57 months. The estimated budget is DKK 17.5 million.
In the justice and human rights area, the consultants will be responsible for the following: internal judicial control mechanisms, including procedures for inspections of courts, prisons, and tribunals, as well as other support related to planning and human rights. They will also provide guidance on issues related to the Universal Periodic Review, human rights in the security sector, and and the independence of the judiciary.
Regarding the security sector, the consultants will have focus on community policing, local policing committees and local security plans; planning, quality assurance, monitoring and evaluation, including indicator development, procedures for monitoring and information collections.
Applicants must have knowledge of Danida procedures and experience in providing support to and capacity building of francophone West African governments.
