Norway flashes money weapon to press UNDP on human rights

Norway keeps core funding of UN Development Programme (UNDP) at the same level as last year and refuses at this stage to pledge multi-year funding of the agency.

In a letter to UNDP Chief Kemal Dervis, Norway, which is UNDP's largest provider of core funding, expresses discontent about the uncertain status of human rights and good governance in the agency's strategic plan for 2008-11.
