Sharp increase in Swedish funding of UN agencies and Africa

Next year Swedish aid will grow to SEK 23.9 billion, equivalent to 0.88 per cent of Gross National Income (GNI). This is an increase of as much as SEK 2.2 billion. The government’s ambition is to increase the budget even more for 2006 to reach 1 per cent of GNI.
