Supporting the UN appeal in Pakistan

Last month Development Today reported that some of the UN’s staunchest supporters among donor countries largely bypassed UN channels in their response to the humanitarian emergency in Pakistan. (See DT 17/05) Oxfam argues that donors must support the UN’s coordinating role in such crises, and continues to lobby for a USD 1 billion central UN emergency fund.
