Finnfund suspends disbursements to Honduran dam, but defends inputs into project

On March 16, Finnfund suspended disbursements to the Agua Zarca dam project in Honduras, 12 days after the project’s main opponent, the indigenous leader Berta Cáceres, was murdered. In an interview with Development Today, the CEO of Finnfund Jaakko Kangasniemi insists that affected communities still want this hydropower project to be built, and he says investors have done everything by the book.
