Canadian exit from Beijing-based bank. High stakes for ‘flagship’ of China’s new multilateralism

Following claims of Chinese meddling in the Beijing-based Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) and Canada’s sudden suspension of activity, the five Nordic governments are awaiting the outcome of an internal bank review before they decide how to respond. A spokesperson at the bank tells Development Today that the review will be completed next week. The controversy is not only testing the young bank, but also China’s new multilateralism.
