Gaza’s children have lost two years of education. Will UNRWA be able to reopen schools?

Until October 7, 2023, UNRWA provided education to almost 300,000 children between the ages of 5 and 14. They are now entering their third year without school and, as the ceasefire takes hold, the agency is trying to resume in-person teaching. UNRWA faces a plethora of obstacles, financial and political.
