Norad boss takes on new mandate and dramatic increase in funds

With a chess enthusiast at its helm, the aid agency Norad has taken on an expanded role in Norwegian aid, following a major reform that was finalised last fall. Funds at its disposal have increased almost five-fold to NOK 18 billion. How much leeway Norad has with these funds will become clearer when the budget proposition for 2021 is presented this week.
