USD 287m pledge makes Sweden a top COVID vaccine donor

At a fund-raising event for the vaccine facility COVAX, the hosts Gavi and the US government raised USD 400 million, most of it from Sweden. The Nordic country’s response is funded through the bond mechanism IFFIm as a way of preventing the crowding out of Swedish grants for other crucial development efforts.
