Tanzania: Norway dumps auditor who revealed massive corruption

Norway and Tanzania are in the midst of intense negotiations over the refund of millions of crowns in aid related to corruption in a natural resources management programme, earlier referred to as “the jewel in the crown" of Norwegian aid in this field.
Norway has reduced its refund claims to a fraction of the original estimate of USD 30 million in misused aid. The Danish auditor who conducted the investigation questions why the amount is being so drastically reduced. The Norwegians have kept him out of the process.
