Save the Children to international NGOs: stop competing with local actors for UN pooled funding

News December 31, 2025 / By: Ann Danaiya Usher

As a way of getting more resources to local humanitarian actors, Save the Children will, starting in January 2026, refrain from applying for support from the UN country-based pooled funds, which this year allocated USD 800 million to 17 crises. It is calling on other NGOs like Danish Refugee Council, CARE, Oxfam, and Norwegian Refugee Council to follow suit.
